Code of Conduct
The Long Way Forward — 24-Hour Endurance Challenge

1. Purpose

This Code of Conduct exists to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all participants.

The challenge is built on personal responsibility, brotherhood, and mutual respect.

2. Expected Behaviour

All participants agree to:

  • Treat others with respect at all times
  • Communicate honestly and constructively
  • Support other participants without judgement
  • Follow instructions given by event organisers

This is not a competition. Ego has no place here.

3. Safety First

Participants must:

  • Act responsibly at all times
  • Immediately report injury, illness, or safety concerns
  • Modify or stop activity if they feel unwell or unsafe

Ignoring physical or mental warning signs is not strength — it's recklessness.

4. Alcohol & Drug Policy

  • No alcohol or recreational drugs are permitted for the duration of the event
  • Participants under the influence will be removed immediately
  • This rule is non-negotiable

5. Mental Health & Wellbeing

This event addresses sensitive themes around fatherhood, mental health, and separation. Participants should:

  • Engage with vulnerability and openness
  • Not share others' stories beyond the event without consent
  • Seek support from organisers if they are struggling

6. Consequences

Breach of this Code may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

Participant Waiver
Assumption of Risk Agreement — The Long Way Forward, 2 May 2026

1. Voluntary Participation

I confirm that I am voluntarily participating in the Dads for Dads 24-Hour Endurance Challenge ("the Event").

I understand that participation is entirely optional, that I may withdraw at any time, and that I am under no obligation to complete any part of the Event.

2. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that the Event involves physically and mentally demanding activities, including but not limited to:

  • Running
  • Cycling
  • Functional fitness / gym-based movement
  • Pack marching / weighted walking
  • Kayaking or water-based activity (if conditions allow)
  • Prolonged physical exertion over a 24-hour period

I understand these activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to: physical injury, heat stress, dehydration, fatigue, cardiac or respiratory events, and drowning or water-related injury.

3. Release of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, I release Dads for Dads, its directors, staff, volunteers, and associated entities from any claim, loss, damage, or expense arising from my participation in the Event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

I acknowledge that I am participating at my own risk and that Dads for Dads has taken reasonable steps to ensure a safe environment.

4. Medical Fitness

I confirm that I am medically fit to participate in a 24-hour endurance event. I have disclosed all relevant medical conditions in the previous step. I agree to immediately notify event staff if my condition changes during the Event.

5. Media Consent

I consent to being photographed and filmed during the Event. I understand that footage may be used in documentary, social media, and promotional materials for Dads for Dads Foundation. If you do not consent, please notify the event team on the day.
